For a comic book that everybody wasn’t going to buy or read Superior Spider-man did pretty good in January going to the top of the charts. I have a feeling even the haters would pick up a copy just to see what was happening with Doc Oc Peter Parker.
‘Superior Spider-Man’ #1 tops January chart
Superior Spider-Man #1 was the top selling comic of January 2013.
DC Comics also performed strongly in a month where sales were up by over 20% on January 2012, according to Diamond’s sales charts.
Batman #16 and Justice League #16 took second and third places ahead of the debut issues of Marvel NOW! titles New Avengers, Savage Wolverine and Uncanny X-Force.
Marvel Comics was the top selling publisher with 34.82% dollar and 40.23% unit share compared to DC’s 31.61% and 35.41%.
Image Comics was the third top selling publisher.
Fables vol 18: Cubs in Toyland - the latest book in Bill Willingham’s Vertigo series – was the bestselling graphic novel of the month, followed by Saga vol 1 and The
